Borders. We’ve crossed into uncharted territory with our newest release, El Steinber. In our somewhat unusual take on the style, we add Midnight Wheat malt to give this lager its dark brown color and roasted Indio-Hispano blue corn to lighten the body and create a unique, toasty flavor. German pilsner malt and Saaz hops round out this beer producing a crisp, clean finish and smooth drinkability that is perfect for any occasion.

This dark lager poured a very dark Amber colour with a soapy, light tan coloured head. Scents include metal, pee and very light hops? Barley? First swig was quite thin and flavour dept wasn't anything to write home about. Although there was a little, a very little speck of roasty flavour with a small taste of hop and cream. Drinkable, but nothing extraordinary.

Pour is a dark brown with an average tan head. Aroma is some dark bready malt but not much after that. Flavor Is about the same. Some dark malt and an ever so slight chocolate. Overall watery and uninteresting.

Sampled from a 16 oz can this beer poured a very dark brown color with faint red highlights and a huge creamy beige head that lingered and left decent lacing. The aroma was malty, sweetish and toasty with notes of nut and marzipan. The flavor was malty and a bit sour with notes of malted milk, marzipan and a bit of dark fruit. Medium length finish. Medium body. Ok.

(Draught at Bishop’s Arms Folkungagatan, Stockholm, 27 Apr 2014) Dark reddish brown colour with ruby hints. Dense beige head. Malty nose with notes of toffee, chocolate, dark fruit and caramel. Malty, roasted taste with caramel, blueberries, dark fruit and a slightly spicy bitterness in the finish. Medium body, with a touch of sweetness. Well balanced and tasty. Quite nice.
