Borders. We’ve crossed into uncharted territory with our newest release, El Steinber. In our somewhat unusual take on the style, we add Midnight Wheat malt to give this lager its dark brown color and roasted Indio-Hispano blue corn to lighten the body and create a unique, toasty flavor. German pilsner malt and Saaz hops round out this beer producing a crisp, clean finish and smooth drinkability that is perfect for any occasion.

Tap at Stagshead with no mention of Mexican in title. Pours brownish with beige head. Light nose of malt and coffee. Tastes of coffee, apples, chalk, malt, smoke, earth, and some leather. Finishes dry and easy drinking

The Trestle Inn, Philadelphia tap: Pours a dark brown with a beige head. Aroma is darkish chocolate, roasted malts, and a modicum of hops. Taste is somewhat sweet, with plenty of chocolate flavour. This was very drinkable, and frankly I am surprised at the low rating... maybe because it is weighted.

Draft at Beer Run. Pours a clear dark rust color with a large frothy tan head. Good head retention. Aroma of earthy notes, stone fruits and floral notes. The taste is berries and pale crackery malts. Medium bodied. Interesting.

I like that they even went after this style since it isn’t something you get much of. Dark brown with a thin head. Toasty malts, toffee, light fruit notes. Not really a lot going on but enough to keep it interesting. Not something I’ll likely get again but it was a decent lager.
