330ml bottle into pint. Over-active head doesn’t stop and spills precious beer on floor. Dies down to foamy tan-coloured head on black beer. Nose is cocoa and sweet chocolate. Flat mouthfeel followed by dry cocoa and coffee. Later you can taste raisins, toast and alcohol. A bit harsh for my tastes but by no means bad.

Bottle. Label suggests this was brewed and/or bottled at Kaiju in Dandenong, Vic., C1700 km away from BrisVegas. Odd. Almost black, modest light tan head. Biscuity aroma with cantaloupe, nectarine, some pine, soy sauce - smells better than that reads, but it’s unusual. A bit Kooinda BIPA. Lightish bodied. Dominated by fruity hops and with little roast behind. Tropical and stone fruit but most of all melons. And really the malt side of things doesn’t much get in the way as we go towards the strongly bitter finish. Not what I expected at all but good.
