500ml bottle into pint glass. Randomly bought for me by my wife, which is nice. Clear mahogany red beer with pitted solid white head, many tiny bubbles. Laces well. Nose is dark smoky caramel. Viscous and smooth. Finish is long, long, long. Treacle toffee and raisins initially then the dry woody alcohol notes appear. Finally you are left with a hoppy bitterness. Great contemplative beer.

Bottle. Deep garnet with a beige head. Aroma of dried and stewed fruit, light roast, singed toffee. Very soft texture, creamy. Sweet and fruity (dried banana, prunes, wild figs) with firm roasted flavours and a drying touch of oak at the end. Lowish bitterness. A bit Old Peculier, a bit Old Engine Oil, slightly firmer roasted notes. Right up my street.
