From open mouth can. Pours black with thick cream head. Big burnt malt nose with boozy tones. Luscious oily mouthfeel. Action-packed flavour wise. The hops try and keep with the charcoal malts. A killer of a beer. Rapt I've cellared a trio.

From a 330ml bottle on 3/8/2016. Pours the darkest of brown with barely any head. Has a light aroma of chocolate, caramel and molasses. Taste wise, it’s sweet up front, with fudge, caramel and dark chocolate, which is met by a slightly salty, sharp, dry bitterness, with hints of soy and Bonox. Has a full body, an oily texture and soft carbonation. Maybe not an absolute bullseye, but definitely interesting and pretty good.

(Bottle) Very black with thick tan head. Aroma has wattleseed, coffee, cigarette ash. Full bodied, oily, sticky with pleasant gentle carbonation. Dark toffee bitter sweetness to start with perhaps hints of toasted coconut. Dark chocolate, black coffee and burnt toast notes develop. There’s a long sticky and bitter finish which winds up leaving a salty stock cube sort of taste. A different take on an Imperial Stout, but not in my opinion an improvement. Unusual and very drinkable.

Bottle, 12C. Black with a cm of tan head that’s soon a coat. Quite fruity over heavy roast - berries, mandarins, pineapple - and Bounty. A whiff of booze or is that the coconut too? Luscious, oily texture. Sweet with mocha, coconut, fudge. The fruit gets quite lost until right at the end where they do show up along with quite strong bitterness to lighten the load. The thing that I keep assuming is wattleseed in beer - a bit earthy, a bit spicy, a bit like mild roast coffee - is there too. Good stuff.
