A blast from the past, our old school IPA takes no prisoners, hopped right through the boil and dry hopped to death. Upfront it is all tropical fruit and aroma, then it finishes with a long and assertive bitterness

330ml bottle - pours deep amber with a thin white head. First notes are of aromatic grapefruit, citrus and heavy tropical fruits. Taste follows on from the aroma - grapefruit, alcohol coming through with passion fruit. Nice solid and thick body, heavy aftertaste. If only it looked better, it would score much higher. Recommended.

Cask@Reading Beer Festival 2012. Slightly hazy orangeish amber colour with a mediumsized off-white head. Aroma is caramel malts, mild crystal maltyness as well as rather bigtime tropical fruits, zest, citrus and floral notes. Flavour is sweet malts, some mild crystal malty crispyness, zest, some citrus as well as floral bitterness. Big bitter fruity and floral aftertaste. Quite brutal, but also balanced and pleasant.

Orange amber, clear, no head. Fruity orangey malts, zesty, orange marmalade, lots of hoppy bitterness in finish with sweet grapefruit resins, good hoppy bite. The finish is the best part of this beer.

Bottle from Utobeer, Boroโ Mkt, London. A hazy dark golden/orange coloured pour with a medium off white head on top. Intriguing aroma of tropical fruit, caramel and malt. Tastes slightly bitter, caramel, distinct grapefruit, malty, some spice. My first beer from Red Willow and it was pretty good stuff.

Bottle shared at The Kernel. Pours lightly hazy, dark gold with a frothy white head. Very mild aroma, some dusty toast, caramel. Medium sweet flavor, leafy bitterness, some grass, toasty malts. Medium bodied with fine carbonation. Dry finish, light sweetness, dry caramel, leaves. Itโs decent.

Bottle from Chester Beer & Wine. Poured a hazy dark amber colour with a decent sized off white head. Interesting nose that had some nice tangerine notes in tandem with some subtle peppery spiciness, maybe vague cinamon or clove too. Flavour had prominent caramel malts alongside piney hop and juicy tropical fruit. Hop bitterness was very tasty and the slight peppery aspect continued on with the citrus into a lengthy lingering finish. Plenty to admire here, and definitely something Iโd have again.
