Growler. Orange with a modest white head. Aroma is funky and fruity with apricots, sourdough bread, mandarins, mace. While there is stone fruit and bready funk there’s not a lot of sweetness or body. There’s a slight hardness to the texture that I don’t love. Lots of spices but not that spicy overall, perhaps partly because the finish is not all that dry. A pretty intriguing beer.

On tap at Local Taphouse, St.Kilda: nice hint of spiciness on the nose. The rye gives it a pleasant fuller mouthfeel. Definite farmy taste profile, especially with pepper playing off against the rye in a nice little battle. I’d happily drink this again and again.

A true saison with a real hint of pepper which resonates on the nose but really lingers in the mouth, particularly in the back of the throat. There are also plenty of those ripe stone fruit flavors in the mouth, but not a hint of cloying sweetness.
