Slaytanic Swill Blood Red Ale

Bottled. An unclear red beer with a beige head. The aroma has notes of berries and lacto. The flavor is sweet with notes berries, malt, and straw, leading to a bitter finish.

Sample from 33 cl. bottle. Dark amber colour with a thin, off-white head. Fruity aroma with toasted notes, caramel malts and a pleasant fruitiness. Taste is light bitter. Medium body with a creamy texture and a soft carbonation. Finishes dry and fruity with caramel malts. Nice. However, much less drama than the name and label might suggest.

33 cl bottle. Pours hazy brown with a small tan head. Fruity and phenolic. Sweet, fruity and wineous. Toasted malty finish.

Bottle 33 cl. Pours a clear, reddish amber with an off-white head. Spicy aroma - cinnamon? Medium body, some sweet burned caramel and again this spicy edge to it. Not much hops here. 310115

Pours red/amber with an almost non-existent head.Nose shows chocolate malt, grainy notes, cocoa, nutty hints and sweet blood orange.Flavours are a bit harsher and not as cohesive despite following along the same lines as the aroma.

If I were making something with blood oranges and beetroot, that’s not the goat’s cheese I would use. Bottle. Venous red with a mauve head that doesn’t last too well. Aroma of blood oranges, milk chocolate, caramel, spices. Light bodied. Sweet with caramel and chocolate, lots of blood orange (including acidity), a woody and earthy note that I suppose is the beetroot, peppery and leafy bitter finish. I don’t don’t love it, but it’s pretty interesting and clearly not thrown together.
