What's the difference between marmalade and jam? Well, we do know the answer but we're not going to say. However, we will say that marmalade is delicious. Especially in a big, bold double IPA like this one!

From a 330ml bottle on 10/3/2015. Pours an opaque golden with a small head. Has a light fruity nose but very subdued for an imperial. In the mouth there’s masses of orange and a touch of honey, with a quite sharp, sour, grapefruity bitterness lingering in the background. Has a bit of marmalade to it but it’s pretty subtle (primarily peel). Has a fullish body and average carbonation. While it has some interesting elements, it’s a little too basic, a touch harsh, and ultimately lacks a bit of cohesion.

(Bottle) Cloudy amber with slight white head. Aroma is slightly citrus, slightly wet dog. Medium to full bodied with good soft carbonation giving smooth mouthfeel. Unusual taste but good. It is tangy, sweet and bitter and orangey at the start, quite reminiscent of marmalade. As the taste evolves the hops come more to the front with some pleasant and fairly assertive bitterness. Unusual and enjoyable.

Bottle, 10C. Clear amber with an inch of white head that hangs around and laces well. Aroma of orange marmalade, grapefruit, pine, peach, pepper. Sweet with a clear herbal orange liqueur headiness to it (that’d be the "vast concoction of citrus peels and orange liqueurs added at the end of fermentation", then) . Hay, oranges then grapefruit and pine burst out towards the fairly bitter end. A little pepper there too. Curious (and good) that that initial waft off booze doesn’t really carry through. Lots of zesty citrus. Thought this one sounded a bit stupid but it’s tasty and even a bit delicate.
