The Huvila X-Porter has a deep black appearance with a brown head. Creamy, slightly nutty, smooth chocolate malt nose. The taste is similar to its nose but also allows the taste of toffee to come through. The after taste then turns more chocolate with toffee. This is a rarity as not many top-fermented Baltic Porters are made any more. Our “hero” at the San Diego Int’l Beer Festival 2010! It is available on tap and in bottles in bars and restaurants across Finland. Since 2011, Huvila X-Porter is also available in shops in Estonia through Drink Baar. Last, but not least, Huvila X-Porter is also imported into the US through Shelton Brothers. Name has since changed to Malmgård X-Porter.

Bottle. Deep brown color almost black. Decent head. Slightly burnt toast aroma with under pinnings of coffee. Taste of deeply roasted malts and slightly fruity after taste.

Taster at Bruuveri, Helsinki. Slightly cloudy, red to black colored. AROMA- roasted, coffee, caramel, earthy. FLAVOR- neutral, moderately bitter, roasted, coffee, chocolate, caramel, earthy, cherry, some berries. Medium bodied. Nice porter.

Dark brown with a medium light brown head. Aroma of coffee, dark fruits and some chocolate. Sweet with a good coffee and dark fruit Finnish. Medium/full bodied.

Bottle. Pours dark brown blackish with a big light brown head. Aromas of light smoke, malt, licorice, cocoa powder. Taste is ashy, malty, chocolate, tobacco, caramelly.

On tap at Bruuveri in a 4 beer taster. Great head, lasting long, nose is coffee and chocolate malt with wafts of fresh wort sweetness. The flavor is a complex mix of roasted grains that just makes me very happy. Not too sweet, lots going on, chewy with plums/raisins balancing the roasty toasty side with a bitter finish. Props to this award winner.

Bottle from Tbone, thanks! Black and opague. Ash and milk chocolate in the aroma. Malty sweet, roasty flavor with milk chocolate and licorice. Creamy mouthfeel. Long dark chocolate aftertaste. Tasty porter. Seriously good beer.
