Draught @Brewpub 24.4.2011. Poured hazy amber color with a creamy white head. Aroma was fruity hops and malt and hint of smoke? Flavor was fruit, hops and sweet malt. Bitter finish. Slight harshness in finish. Decent bitter.

(Cask at Gallows Bird Kekri ’10) The beer poured amber and hazy. In my opinion cask ales should be really clear so minus one point. Head was ok. The fruitiness of the aroma was overwhelming and really pleasant. The keg version had more intense hoppiness in the aroma but the hops weren’t missing from here either. Also the taste was very fruity, Other flavours were toffee, hops, malts, sweetness and bitterness. Overall: a good brew, really fresh and fruity but too sweet.

Draught, at the brew pub, Suomenlinna, Helsinki, Finland. Dark orange colour with a smallish white head. Sweetish, fruity nose. Slid down nice n’smooth. More fruituness in the flavour and some decent enough hoppage also revealed itself in the flavour. Pretty simple stuff, but clean and very drinkable on a hot summers day in the garden.

On tap at the brewpub in July 2010. Golden amber with a small white head. Aroma with some hops and malt, taste of bread, malt, fruit. Soft carbonation. Drinkable but nothing to write home about.

Draught at Black Door, Helsinki. Clear amber, brief head. Light resiny hops sway over a lightly mellow/syrupy body. Resiny finish with medium bitterness. A pretty basic ale aimed towards a non-beer geek audience that fails to impress when surrounded by beers from more ambitious microbreweries.

Draught (4.5%). Amber coloured, mediumsized off-white bubblyish head. Aroma is hoppy and malty. Flavour is hoppy, and being more sour than bitter. Hayish aftertaste. Wellbalanced and refreshing.

Darkish golden color, small white head. Light woody-leafy hoppy aroma. Yeasty, leafy hoppy, slightly fruity flavor. "Craft beer" -touch.

On tap at the Suomenlinnan Panimo brewpub on the island of Sveaborg/Suomenlinna at the seaward approach to Helsinki (a UNESCO World Heritage site). This is an English style ale, golden to amber colour, slightly cloudy, moderate to low head. Moderate yeasty and hoppy aroma, some yeastiness and cloves in the well rounded flavour. Sufficient body to be a treat, light enough to be refreshing. Pleasant bitterness in the aftertaste. I’d say the brewer has done a good job with this one.
