Comes out almost flat, aroma has syrupy hop, but also diacetyl. Same palate, sticky sweet but dull hops and there’s diacetyl in there as well.

Pours murky copper with a massive head.Nose shows some piny and resinous hops with a fair whack of sweet malt underneath.Hoppy flavours, more resinous pine. Also a fair bit of sweet clean malt followed by a bold bitterness and a fair bit of sharp booze.Carbonation is way too high.

From a 650ml (?) bottle on 25/3/2013. Pours a cloudy light orange with a huge head. Has a relatively strong aroma of yeast, honey and pink grapefruit. Taste wise, it starts out sweet with citrus and stone fruit, loads of honey, a touch of caramel, and a dash of alcohol. The bitterness is firm and lingering, but it’s hidden for something listed as 150 IBUs. All up, this is enjoyable enough but a little lacking in character for a DIPA (and HopDog is usually big on character). On the plus side, happy to find a HopDog brew where the carbonation is actually under control.

Bottle. Amber with a huge off-white head. Aroma of grapefruit, peach, pine needles, lychees in syrup. Some overt alcohol. Overcarbonated. Sweet with caramel and peach before very strong bitterness. Pine, pineapple, grass and citrus linger. Alcohol sticks out a fair bit. Hops work well in the aroma and break though the sweetness but mainly as a roar - but I guess they’re my usual complaints about this sort of thing.
