There’s a hint of the Pacific Ale about this one, with pleasant tropical fruit aromas but a more significant hop presence in the mouth. The only critcism is that the malt is a little mild for a Golden Ale and the palate a little thin. Very nice Summer ale.

From a 330ml bottle on 12/12/2012. Pours a very cloudy light golden with a small, lasting head. Has a very pleasant, floral tropical fruit aroma. The flavours are quite explosive, with bready, biscuity malt at the start, sweet citrus, tropical and stone fruit (lemon, orange, pineapple, mango and apricot) in the middle, and a lovely, long grapefruity hop bitterness at the back (stunned that the IBU is only 28). This has a huge amount of character for something that’s just 4.5%. A really impressive and quite unusual beer. Lovely packaging too. A fabulous debut from Boneyard - can’t wait to try more from these guys.

Bottle, 8C. Hazy gold with a small white head that lasts pretty well. Aroma of white nectarines, melon, gooseberry, lemon pudding. Lowish carbonation. Gentle sweet and slightly bready, but really all about hops. Lots of tropical fruit with pleasantly peppery bitterness. Perky it is.

Pours amber with a lasting small head.Nose shows passion-fruit, papaya and peach along with some bready malt and musty notes.Similar flavours, more fruit and bready notes with some sweet malt underneath.Could use more carbonation.Pretty decent apart from a musty malt extract-like character throughout. Great hop notes.
