33 cl. bottle sampled @ Delirium Hoppy Loft: A: black with a thick, creamy beige head – S: wow, way sweeter than I expected, sweet syrup plums, touch cough syrup, heavy malt, touch malt & liquorice – T: continuous the train of thought, sweet prunes & prunes + malts, liquorice, touch cough of cough syrup, hint of wood, molasses & bourbon finish B: sweet maple coffee & malt-heavy body, been looking forward to this one as well as procrastinating actually tasting it for some unknown reason, mostly exited because Gonzo is probably the beer that truly made me a beer geek, a barrel aged version seemed interesting, in the end I only sampled it, I must say that it is extremely different from what I expected it to be but still a very nice surprise

Argonaut, DC tap: Pours a near black color with a brown head. Aroma is of licorice, oak, whiskey, roasted malts, and some other things. This beer is a bona fide sipper. much more so than the normal, which I had years ago, but still remember quite well. Whiskey and licorice really dominates the taste, but there is some chocolate and straight up roast in there as well. Doesn’t really have a burn, but does have something that coerces small sips. Aftertaste lingers and the like. Good though.

RBESG Sheffield 2009 Grand Tasting @ Harlequin The non BA version is one of the few stout/porters tht can be found in Greece and I used to purchase it a lot and enjoy it as well. So I was pleased to try this version. Pitchb lack with lasting small brown head. Roasted malt ,vanilla and chocolate , some distinct wood in the background. Similar taste with extra notes of licorice, rather sweet btu with a nice bitter finish. Very likeable.

0.355l bottle courtesy of yngwie. This one pours a dark brown body with a small, bubbly and sidesticking tanned head. The aroma is lovely and sweet with strong licorice notes, heavy roasted malts, bourbon-alcohol tones, wood, dark sweet caramel and perhaps even some hints of cinnamon and cocoa. Really nice! Surprisingly lively carbonation, full-bodied and the mouthfeel is heavy oily and almost chewy. Strong roasted flavors with a fantastic sweetness. Notes of both wood and strong licorice, nice dark espresso tones before it ends in a really great and fantastic warming - almost burning finish. A fantastic beer!

355ml bottle. Pours a dark brown with a medium head. Aroma is chocolate, whiskey with a touch of mint. Taste doesn’t have much to start, a little chocolate. Not too strong whiskey in the finish. Not much body considering it’s nearly 10%.

Weich, in Teilen fast langweilig hohl. Milder Abgang mit angenehmen aber schwachen Würznoten. 9/9/10/8/10/9

Bottle @ Uni bar, Århus. Pours black with a huge tan head. Aroma of bourbon, vanilla, chocolate, oak. Taste is dried dark fruit, raisins, bourbon, light sweet chocolate and vanilla notes, sadly the oak is abit to strong and dominat. Medium body, rather high carbonation for a BA beer, abit of a alchoholic finish. Good beer, aroma is great, but sadly the oak is abit to overpowering in the flavor. 070511
