Pint on tap at Basement Brewhouse, Bankstown. Red/brown beer with a thin white head. Sweet malt nose. Good body, nice lacing. Mildly effervescent with a smoky malt taste and a watery burnt caramel finish. Easy to drink but fairly simple.

Bottle, 9C. Clear copper with an off-white head. Fat vinegar toffee aroma with pongy tropical fruit, some grapefruit and spices. Light-bodied than the aroma suggests, creamy with moderate carbonation. Malt not quite as full on as the aroma either, with plainer toffee and restrained fruit. Plenty of bitterness though, dryish finish with some spices. Rollicking.

From a 330ml bottle on 13/9/2012. Pours a dark reddy brown with a medium bubbly head. Has quite a strong aroma of brown sugar, golden syrup, toffee and a bit of citrus fruit. The flavour is sweet and malty, with more brown sugar and toffee, treacle, and some dark fruit. It finishes with a relatively firm, lingering hop bitterness. The palate is syrupy. Another HopDog brew with quite a bit of character, but as per usual with this brewer, way over carbonated, which detracts from an otherwise enjoyable experience.

Pours dark brown with a large, lasting head.Nose shows lots of tropical fruit and rich malt. Very syrupy smelling, incredibly tempting.Similar flavours, with lots of crystal malt sweetness but also showing lots of tropical fruity hops. Big papaya, lychee and resinous hop notes. Amazing malt character too.Nice syrupy body, could use a little more carbonation though.
