Bottle, as Strong Honey Ale. Clear gold, no head. Powerful honey aroma that’s somewhat medicinal with some lemon. Fairly light-bodied and quite carbonated. Tastes of good honey with a strong apparent sweetness that lingers for a while before drying out right at the end leaving light herbal notes. Very clean and dry, no hint of sweetness or alcohol. Dislodged the yeast stuck at the bottom of the bottle for the second half of the glass and it seemed slightly bready. Interesting drop with a classy finish.

From a 330ml bottle on 6/3/2010. Note that the label on my bottle said ’Strong Honey Ale’ rather than ’Strong Mead Ale’, The label and alcohol content make me think it’s the same beer, but I may be wrong. Has a super cloudy appearance and a honey and citrus fruit aroma. The flavour is dominated by an abundance of sweet honey and a distinct and quite powerful lemony finish. The carbonation is over the top. All up, it’s a reasonably interesting beer, but not one that I’m aching to try again.

Bottled. Cloudy yellow. Piney honey aroma. Chalky with surprisingly light body and notes of alcohol. Very drinkable mead, perhaps on the light side.
