On tap at Moose in Te Anau. Pours red brown. Caramel, hazelnut, plum, synthetic cherry, biscuit. Body could be thicker and less carbonated. Not the worst offering from Speights by any means.

Bottle. Bright amber with a modest off white head. Aroma of caramel and nuts. Taste is sweet with toffee and modest balancing bitterness. Slightly spiced at the end. Straightforward and OK.

Draft. A red beer with a thin beige head. The aroma has notes of malt as well as a lighter note of caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt and caramel as well as lighter notes of metal and nuts.

Draught. Amber colour, small white head. Aroma is vegetables, malts and grass. Flavour is quite much the sam. Not very exciting.

Cleard reddish amber with tiny off white short lasting head. Sweet malty aroma with fruity and caramel notes. Sweet flavor with caramel and malty notes. Ends sweet.

(On tap) Clear, amber golden with a small, off-white head. Light caramel and nuts in the nose. Medium body with a good solid base of roasted malt and a little caramel. The finish is dry. 250108

On tap at Speight’s bar, Temple. Chestnut, lasting beige head. No huge aroma. Bit nothingy. Bit of hop. Bit of malt. Bit sweet and dull.

Bottled. Pale brown. Sweet , roaty and nutty with soft mouthfeel and medium body,plus a bit of ash. Low bitterness. Drinkable, but indistinct.
