Funky, wild and tart. Some things don't seem right but you want them anyway: that quasi-erotic feeling you get when Charlton Heston makes out with Zira the chimp. Sure, she reluctantly says "all right, but you're so damned ugly..." But you know she's into it. And as with all things a bit perverted, so are you.

Bottle purchased at 7- Eleven, Kitter, ME. Flat black in color, low carbonation, no head or lace but a little oily films after the sip. Aroma is musty oak, blackberry jam, and acetone.
The one problem I have with any sour/ wild ale is vinegar. This has a mild vinegar undertone that really downgrades my enjoyment. The other flavors of sour Cherry, blackberry, and funky oak are ok. The carbonation is very low (nearly flat) with a oily slick feel. Not really my thing.

This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a black color with a quickly dissipating white to off white foamy head quickly dissipating into barely anything.
The smell starts off with a sweet to sour cherries, subtle plums and then some dried milk chocolate.
The flavor brings all previously mentioned flavors together with a sweet dry sour aftertaste and smooth sour finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium on the body with a sticky sour to sweet feel hitting my tongue.
Overall, different for an American Wild ale with the chocolate in it. I think I could come back to this.

From a 330ml bottle on 15/5/2016 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours a dark, dark red/brown with a smallish head. Has a quite a tart cherry aroma. Flavour wise, there’s lots of cherry, with lots of sour notes, with a good dash of oak. Medium bodied with modest carbonation. It’s rare that a sour beer thrills me, and this one doesn’t. Doesn’t really work for me on any level.

Pours black with an almost non-existent head.Nose shows tart plums, soft funk, musty oak, brown sugar, cherries and a bold wild yeast sour character.Flavours include more oak, lacto acidity, roasted malt. The roasted malt jars a little with the plum and acidity. Carbonation is a little over the top.

Bottle. Murky reddish brown with a small light beige head. Aroma of tart plums, apples, brett, brown sugar. Slightly slippery mouthfeel. Lowish carbonation. Taste has plums and apples, a hint of chocolate, quite a lot of tartness that’s mellow until a bretty zing right at the end. Some salt there too. Quite complex and very refreshing.
