Bottle. Cloudy orange with a large white head that collapses to an inch. High carbonation. Aroma of lemon, cloves, white pepper. Barely sweet. Wheaty but not really bready. No banana. Some wheat and lemon tang. Dry and spicy finish. Refreshing but uninvolving. No date, but clearly very fresh.

Great to be the third rater of this beer and the first not from Australia! Super crisp and clear (NOT hazy) with a bunch of bubbles rising from the bottom and a large, dense white head that fades like soap - very fast. The craziest thing about this appearance is the fog that stays on top of the bottle once immediately opened - it looks magical - crazy. Aroma of fresh wheat, caster sugar and then a funky cardboardie type scent comes through - odd. Medium-bodied; Assertive effervescence with a very mild flavour, showing only a light malt (not even wheat) flavour, some light citrus notes, a hint of banana and some subdued fruity sweetness. Aftertaste is very mellow with some malt (again, not much wheat flavours) and some mild funky yeast coming through, and also some fake sugar flavour. Overall, not very wheatie and especially not a german unfiltered wheat which the label clearly stated they were attempting. A pretty big letdown and a very sub-par beer. Unfortunately, I brough this back for a long trip to be sampled, and I wasn’t too happy with the results. But, happy to have sampled it, given not many people have! I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Slowbeer in Melbourne, Victoria, Australia on 31-December-2009 for AU$4.50 sampled at home on the East Coast of the Good Old USA in Washington on 07-October-2010.
