Bottle from a centrally located bottle shop in Melbourne I didn’t note the name of. Sampled on July 26, 2013.As "Pike’s Pilsener - Oakbank Beer" at 4.5% ABV.Edit, it was apparently "vintage cellars - little bourke street (chinatown)".Clear straw yellow color, white head. Sweet, malty scent. Malty, bitter taste. Medium mouthfeel, low bitterness. Grainy aftertaste.

(bottle - Pikes Oakbank Pilsener) Clear pale amber, no head. Aroma has some slight grassy hops on a rather grainy background. Light body, reasonable carbonation. Slightly malty, slightly fruity bright flavour to start quickly replaced by a slightly grassy hoppiness with a reasonable bitter finish, if a bit metallic. It’s an OK pilsener; easily drinkable, but not exceptional or very interesting.

Pours amber with a quickly fading head.Skunky aroma, but underneath is honey, floral and grassy notes.Very similar flavours, very Czech pilsner-like. Somewhat weak though.Carbontion could be a bit higher.Get rid of the skunky note and this would be a lot better.

From a 330ml bottle on 29/9/2011. The label says Pilsener, not New Sparkling (there is a separate entry on here for what appears to be the same beer). Pours a bright clear yellow with a medium head. Has a very slight grainy aroma. Tastes nice and clean, with sweet malt and a touch of fruit. Finishes with a mild to medium bitterness. Quite drinkable but far from notable.

Bottle. Pale gold with a white head that fades like a coat. Light grainy aroma with earth and grass. Taste is quite sweet and grainy with a touch of metal, then decent bitterness with earth and grass. Very like a mediocre German pils.

Bottled. Golden colour, dense head. Papery malt aroma. Sweet and medium bodied with rounded mouthfeel. Lightly salty finish. A standard lager, nothing more, nothing less.
