Bottle from Mane Liquor, Perth. Medium brown with a decent, off-white head. Sweet, grainy malts, some chocolate and a gentle finish. Fine.

Pours dark with a nice aroma. Didnt like the burnt toffee finish though. Probably had it a bit cold, but theres other dark ales I prefer

From a 330ml bottle on 1/2/2011. Pours a cloudy dark brown. Has an unusual aroma of chico babies, cereal and a touch of fruit. The flavour is chocolate, cola and dark fruit, with a mild hop and citrus tang at the end. The palate is very creamy. This is a fairly subtle brew, is eminently drinkable, but probably won’t rock your world.

Bottle, 15C. Darkish brown with a three inch tan head that’s a quivering dome an inch out of the glass. Looks great. Mild mocha aroma with a touch of toast. Luscious mouthfeel. Tastes light and lively. There’s some mocha and a yeasty/ wheat funkiness with enough hops to stop it tasting really sweet at all. Finish is slightly coffee sour. I’m not a fan of banana-like flavours so their absence is a positive for me. I guessed with the temperature and I’m pretty sure I got it right.

Pours dark brown with a large but quickly diminishing head.Aroma is comprised of wheat and hints of toasty malt. Quite faint.Flavours show more roasted malt, with toasty and almost burnt note, along with the afore-mentioned doughy wheat.Carbonation is over the top for this kind of beer, very prickly, detracting from the flavour. Not sure what happened here; this isn’t as refreshing as a hefe, but not as tasty as a dunkel-weiss. Fails on both counts.

Bottled. Nut brown, rich head. Light caramel aroma, hard crystal malt character. Somewhat roasty with lightly salty finish. Unattenuated.
