Small (250 ml?) bottle at 3 Små Rum. Labeled "Närke Svensk Ek! Stormaktsporter - Macrök 2".2009 edition, 9.5% ABV, sampled on March 6, 2012Black color, dense brown head. Chocolate, lactic, oak, smoke, whisky scent, though with for me a bit too evident alcohol. Smoke, sweet, lactic, caramel, honey, smooth ooooh so good taste! Very smooth mouthfeel. Berry and roasted aftertaste. Medium bitterness. Very very nice!

12/14/14/15//14

Pitch lack with a lasting creamy tan head. Big and rich aroma of fruit, chocolate and licorice. Intense complex flavour, slightly dusty and a it too sweet. Compared to my perfect rating of the regular (bourbon aged) Kaggen, this is lower, but mostly because it was fresh (2009, tasted in October 2010) and a bit rough around the edges.

25th Spetember 2010. Borefts Beer Festival II.
Opaque black beer with a little tan head. Lovely dark malts, smooth, creamy and with some sweeteness coming from the Swedish oak. Totally inadequate rating cause I’m enjoying this too much!

30th October 2009
On tap at Borefts I. Opaque black stout, sweet malty nose. Soft palate. Sweet aromatic wood throughout but doesn’t taste oaky! Gets sweeter toward the finish but does leave a mildly bitter coffee aftertaste.

Draught at Borefts Beer Festival 2010, and at the after party. 2009 version, courtesy of Håge, thank you. This one has slightly less complexity than the other versions, the wood is apparent, and there are subtle hints of forest berries and cinnamon. Good stuff.
