With an uncompromising celebration of intensity, we revel in vocally calling out the tyrannical beer overlords who attempt to subjugate the masses with their pap and pablum. We exist as an open challenge to the mindless industrial fizzy yellow beer drinkers. Yes, we are massively outnumbered. There are no less than 7 Billion people on this planet that don’t know, care about, or like what we do.* Yet our legions are strong, and our will is stronger. We are as massively arrogant as ever, and for just reason. We possess what they never can. We are superior in discretion and decorum. Arrogant Consortia is dedicated to aggressive beers that require taste and sophistication, and that means, like it or not, dedicated to you. Reject, and be lost. Join us, and you shall know righteousness.

*If you’re one of those, congratulations on the self-assessment sunshine! One less that we have to point it out to. Now run along, the adults are talking....

Can - a rather needy vibe to this package, from the "pretend-it's-a-different-brewer" thing to the misaligned "you should check out these zines, fellow appreciator of what we think is still youth culture" text on the can. All very cringeworthy, but that's their thing. They flex even as they approach the ambit of suburban Melbourne bargain bins. Very dark brown with a beige head that fades to a cm and never quite disappears. Aroma of strong bread, pears, licorice, coriander, pepper, coffee. Medium bodied, lowish carbonation. Bread, quite punchy spices, (rye?), roast, coffee. Not really much of the licorice of the aroma. Firm bitterness. Reminded me a bit Old Engine Oil. Another pretty good stout from Stone. Perhaps at 7.2% ABV, it's a little strong for what it offers, but good. --- Beer merged from original tick of Arrogant Bastard Black Metallic Stout on 12 Jun 2019 at 16:06 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 7 | Flavor - 7 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 7.5. Can to glass after train ride to San Juan Capistrano. Dark cola brown pour with a thin cream-colored head. Aroma is roasted malt with some grassy hops. Taste is much more hoppy - with some pine resin hops alongside medium grainy roasted malt. Not bad. Palate a bit thin but good.

Certainly an interesting one. Roast, pine and even a hint of licorice. Dark brown pour with great and lacing. Bitter end with some caramel and resin. Tap at Richmond brewery.

Draft pour at Stone Brewing Richmond. Poured an opaque dark cola color with a small, light tan head. Aroma was malt roast, some light bakers chocolate. Flavor was mild sweetness, some light dry character. Malt roast. Mild sweetness. Actually quite pleasant.
