Dark balc pour, ample brown head. Aroma of lactose, subtle cocoa, and some light roast. Creamy mouth feel, soft carb. Slightly bitter finish, touches of cocoa powder, and roasted malts. I wouldnt call this a sweet stout, there isnt much sweetness.

Draught at St. Augustine’s, Vancouver
Dark color, near black. Light aroma of roasted malts. The mouthfeel is very dry, it has a delicate flavor of roasted malt, some chocolate, some lactose, light nuts.
Rather simple but clean. I don’t get the "Sweet", but it’s a perfectly sessionable Stout.

Rich dark brown coloured body with a nice, three to four centimetre tall tan head. Aroma of cream, raisins, roasted malt, oatmeal, alcohol and a dose of pit fruits - nice and strong. Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavours of malt, caramel and earth while also showing some milk and cream flavours, a dose of raisins and figs and a touch of cardboardie malt near the end. Aftertaste shows the cream and roasted malt more than anything with some oatmeal body and a lighter dose of raisins and figs that make this quite sweet. Overall, a fairly decent, but a tad thin, stout that is definitely on the sweeter side, but to me pours and feels like a porter more than a stout. I sampled this 20 ounce, thin [beau’s] bottle purchased from Whole Foods in New York (Columbus Circle), New York on 11-June-2017 for US$4,99 sampled at home on the Eastern Shore on 30-June-2017, my birthday at Pungoteague, Virginia. Batch 5648, Packed On: 21-October-2016 // Purchased: 11-June-2017 // Sampled: 30-June-2017.

On tap at St. Augustine's, pours a deep dark brown with a reddish tinge and a small tan head. Aroma brings out lactose sweetness and a touch of red fruitiness. Flavour is rather metallic, with subdued lactose, toasted malt and some dirt. Finishes earthy and metallic. Not a fan of this one.

Draught @ St Augs. Dark brown with a thin head. On the nose, some mellow chocolate and a touch of toffee- to me, a nice milk stout aroma. Light body but residual sugars are just in enough evidence. Soft. Cocoa, touch of toffee. Avoids the thinness trap. Pretty good example.

Bouteille 600ml. Couleur brune très foncée presque noire laissant passer la lumière, faible mousse moka. Arôme de malt torréfié, cendré, café. Goût de malt torréfié, café, légère acidité, grains de café. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen-faible.

Bottle brought back from Canada from a co-worker. Thanks Justin. Shared at a tasting. Pours a deep brown to black with a one-finger beige head of foam. Roasted malt, toasted sorghum, pecans on the nose. Quite roasty on the palate with some sweetness and dark fruit as well. Average carbonation and mouthfeel. Slightly dry finish with some sweetness. Not bad.

New Beer Distributors, NYC bottle ($8): Pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is light chocolate, roasted malts, and a definite hint of hops. Not that that sweet in the taste. Veritable hoppy bitterness in the finish. A bit sticky in the mouth. Pretty easy to drink. Good enough beer.
