By using a load of American hops, this beer has a deliciously sweet citrus aroma. You will also find this in the taste, after which it will disappear bitterly. Caramel accompanies the taste and brings balance, from start to finish.

On tap at Proeflokaal Reijngoud Rotterdam, Friday 13th March 2015 in company of Dad & Barry Hazy amber with a white head. Slick in mouth and surprisingly easy drinking despite the considerable abv. Good bittersweet balance, and little spiciness with the hops. Soft in mouth, citrussy actually really soft in the mouth, like it. A8 A4 T8 P4 Ov16 4.0

Bouteille: Cloudy, amber, looking like a thin milk-coffee with a small and persistent "dirty" head; sweet fruity to caramelly nose with a distinctive herbal-hoppy background, traces of port-wine detectable, too; quite solid sweet-bitter flavour, surely full bodied, but not really soft; drying oit and becoming distinctively bitter towards the very end.Yes, really good…

330 ml bottle @ Bakgården Både &. Slightly unclear amber with a fine off-white head. Good aroma of citric fruity hops, malt, caramel and dry fruit. Flavor is sweet malt, caramel, dry fruit, citric fruit, grapefruit, good bitterness and warming alcohol. Fine body and pleasant aftertaste. A solid beer, like it a lot.

Bottle from Lekker Bier, dated 18-12-2013, large sample. Opens without a sssh, as it is filled way too far to the top. Pours a murky copper color, with just some lacing. Aroma is quite fruity, grapefruit, lots of raisin and burned caramel. Very sweet taste, just slight bitterness. Way too sticky. Couldnt finish the glass.

Tap at Kaapse Brouwers. Slight hazy reddish brown with white head. Looks great. Massive sweet malts and honey, stone fruits and sugared red fruit. Hint of bitter yeast in the finish. Full bodied. Decent enough barley wine like beer.

[9/28/14] Draught sample at Borefts After Festival 2014 in Rotterdam. Amber-colored. Aroma of malt, caramel, fruity esters and “green” hops, a bit moldy. Sweet flavor, malty, caramelly, with fruitiness, a bit of honey, fruits and a slightly bitter finish with some hops. Medium-bodied, a bit heavy.

Bottle from De Hopduvel. Orange colour, white head. Medium carbonation. Flowery aroma with notes of grapefruit, citrus, pine, caramel and brown sugar. Well balanced but maybe a tad too sweet. Good.
