This is an aged Belgian red ale, which is ‘ripened quietly in oak barrels for two years’, according to the label. It has an extremely pungent aroma of rich grapey fruit, with acidic notes, very much like a slightly sour red wine or possibly a gueuze. In the mouth it is slightly sweet, extremely acidic and fruity, with grapes and even cherries discernible, and very lively. Despite the sweetness it is not at all cloying, even thin, with little or no trace of malt. Finish is sharp and fruity

Brewcraft closing party #2. Never had this after all these years. Reddish cola brown with off white head. Sour Cherry with a bite in the back of throat. Can see why people like but not for me. Like sangria or red wine mixed with light beer.

This one poured a nice clear deep red colour with creamy tan head. Minimal lacing. Scents include really ripe fruit, cider vinegar, spices, nail polish remover, oak and minimal alcohol. First swig was smooth with minimal carbonation. Flavours of cider, spice, malt, sour cherries and plum. Finish is acidic with lingering flavours of oak and cider vinegar.

Bottle. A- Wet oak, slightly musty, cherry, mild vinegar. A- Dark reddish brown color, clear liquid, minimal beige head. T- Cider vinegar, cherry, blackberry, tart, oak. P- Medium body, average texture, average carbonation, acidic finish. O- 2017 vintage; 5 years definitely changed this I'd say. Perhaps one of my lesser favorites of the Rodenbachs. A bit underwhelming.

Bottle from Beyond Beer, drunk watching Space Force antics. Dark red brown. Good, moderately sour nose. The flavor is night and day more interesting than the classic version fire to much more of the 2y aged beer. Good complexity, tangy acidity, fruity sour notes, moderately long finish.
