Flaske 330ml fra Vinmonopolet Nettbutikk. Kjøpt sammen med Rune og delt på Nerstranda 8 Feb 16. Svart. Lavt mokkafarget skum. Pen lacing. Heftig kaffearoma med innslag av mørk sjokolade. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken melkesjokolade. Behagelig. Sjokoladesmaken henger lenge i.

Bottle. A dark brown to black beer with a reddish tint and a dense, finger-thick light tan head. Lots of coffee in the aroma, with burnt and roasted malts, dark chocolate and some piney hops. It’s a bit thin on the palate, it’s dry and smooth with a nice carbonation level. Roasted malts, coffee and coffee flavor with a nice bitterness. Better aroma than flavor, but it’s still nice. Long coffee dominated finish. Sure a fine one, especially the aroma. It’s a bit thin on the palate and the flavor doesn’t follow up what the aroma promises. 160130

330 ml bottle, Cardinal Pub & Bar, Stavanger. ABV is 6.0%, 39 IBU. Hop is Cascade. Black colour, moderate to low tan head. Aroma of roast malts, liquorice and coffee, strangely mixed with citrussy hops. Very dry roasty, woody and ashy flavour, a hint of liquorice, coffee and smoke, citrussy and resinous hops in the finish. Unbalanced. Not my cup of tea..

Svart med høyt lys brunt kremete skum. Lukter kakaopulver, mørk sjokolade, espresso og noe granbar. Smaker lett bittert, mot mørk sjokolade. Noe salt lakris, kjenner også rå kakao smak. Saltbitter avsluttning.

05.09.2015, 0,33l bottle sampled @ Bergen Ølfestival:
Small light brown creamy shortlasting head. Aroma is slightly sweet, dark malts, caramel, espresso, dark sugar, caramel, chocolate, hints of lactose and vanilla. Taste is slightly dry, dark malts, grass, espresso, weeds, roasted grain, burnt caramel, hints of lactose, vanilla and chocolate. Medium bitterness, slightly dry and watery mouthfeel. Fair enough, just lacks a thicker mouthfeel.

33cl bottle from Vinmonopolet. Pours very dark brown with a reddish hue and a beige head. Roasty aroma with lots of coffee, some dark chocolate, notes of dark fruits, licorice and hints of vanilla. Sweet, but balanced with lovely roasty flavours and a moderate bitterness. Highly drinkable, and quite delicious!
