Rain Check Spiced Stout is our answer to the merciless wet weather that plagued and slowed the construction of our new brewery in Mills River, NC. This dark, rich, and roasty beer helps us forget the delays - a Rain Check we’ll take any time. Rain Check is a rich, toasty stout with flavors of burnt sugar and dark roasted malt spiked with ginger and lime to celebrate the end of dark and rainy days.

Bottle scored by Eric and shared by Ken at Capitol Beer in Sacramento, CA. Pours dark brown with orange glints and a tan head. Aroma suggests something like old time linoleum adhesive (not necessarily a bad thing). Med + body. Flavor starts linoleum adhesive, quickly moves to treacle, black malt, ginger/spice and maybe dark fruit. Lot’s going on here.

4oz pour at the Max’s Taphouse Beer Camp event. Pours a watery, deep brown with some bubbly, beige head. Nose has some asian influence, lime, lemongrass, pepper, mild toast. Flavor is only lightly sweet, lime zest, lemongrass, black pepper, yeast. Finish is refreshing and a bit pepper. Solid and so well nuanced.
