Bounty Hunter is our once-a-winter Imperial Stout that we condition on loads of toasted coconut and vanilla bean, thus offering a welcome and warming getaway within the coldest season.
This ultra-smooth beer contains a maelstrom of bitter chocolate, rich dark malts, and a subtle underbelly of tropical notes. We can hear you muttering “you had me at maelstrom…”.

Jet black pour, dark brown head, looks gorgeous. Intense roasty, vharred malt aroma. Also lots of cocoa power, coffee and a subtle sweetness. The mouth feel is viscous with a medium to soft carb. The finish is where the coconut comes through big time. Huge notes of coconut and that subtle sweetness from the aroma turn into a distinct vanilla flavor. All in all a nice beer, but the finish is quite sweet, and the coconot takes over at the end. Still, a great sipper!

It’s gotten down to a high of 26 in HK today, so impy season is here. Nice flaked coconut, chocolate and condensed milk on the nose. Booze isn’t hidden here.

Who says stouts can’t be a summer drink? Bellwoods Bounty Hunter 10% Imperial Stout w/coconut & vanilla Pitch black pour with dense rusty long-lasting foam. It has a lovely coconut stout aroma, big velvety smooth luscious body and dark chocolate, roasty soy and then decadently sweet coconut chocolate. The vanilla is more hinted at but feels like the glue that keeps this summery brew together. 20%, I’m glad I’ve got the day off!

500ml bottle (thx, Peter K.!). Pours a very dark brown with brown head. Aroma is fruity, some chocolate and vanilla. Taste is moderate to high sweet with chocolate, roasted malt, some vanilla and coconut notes. Very nice.

Bouteille 500ml, gracieuseté de msjpearson, Thanks Mike! Couleur noire opaque, mousse moka foncée dense et persistante laissant une superbe dentelle. Arôme de malt torréfié, café, noix de coco grillée, chocolat, touche de brûlé. Goût de malt torréfié, café, chocolat noir, alcool, touche sucré en fin de bouche. Carbonatation moyenne, corps moyen.

Bottle share during TdG 2015 at Tilquin, thanks Dennis. Couleur brune foncée, col café au lait voire moka. Arôme offre une belle profusion de noix de coco avec une agréable et solide base maltée tirant sur le chocolaté et grillé-café. Palais offre une très bonne balance de la noix de coco, sans être ’overkill’ et des malts qui oscillent entre un superbe chocolaté et grillé et des notes torréfiées, le tout est assez épais en bouche. Bière qui vient de suite à l’esprit est la Maui Coconut Porter.

Bottle - Molasses, syrupy dark chocolate light coconut. Deep maroon with a decent light brown head. Dark roast, coconut and some bitterness. Not bad, but nothing special.
