The epitome of Victorian epoch legendary style, created for East Indian colonies to endure long sea journeys from Britain, moderately strong ale with significant hop aroma and bitterness.

Bottle. Clear deep golden, moderate off-white fluffy head. Average retention. Pleasant aroma. Citrus. Tropical fruit. Resin. Light to medium body. Oily. Bittersweeet taste. Clean. Notable resiny bitterness basing on biscuity malts. lingering light+ bitter finish & aftertaste. This is an IPA without ambitions. it doesn’t scream for success. It’s just made well enough. A beer of charming modesty. A nice choice to pick up new craft movement participants.

500ml bottle from apivo.ru. Pours orange with a medium-sized white head. Citrus and pine aroma. Not so great sourish taste. Harsh bitterness in the finish. My least-favourite Russian IPA so far. --- Beer merged from original tick of Bengal IPA on 12 Aug 2015 at 12:16 - Score: Appearance - 6 | Aroma - 5 | Flavor - 4 | Texture - 4 | Overall - 5.5. Original review text: 500ml bottle from Bochka in Moscow. Pours orange with a medium off-white head. Aroma is spicy and citrusy. Taste is citrus, malt. Finish is bitter, but harsh. There's something about Vasileostrovskoe IPAs that I don't like.

Bottled 500ml. -Unclear amber coloured, small off-white head, mild fruity hoppy nose. Sweet malty, light caramel, jam like fruity notes ant touch of spices with decent hop profile. Hint of alcohol in the finish. Not bad for Russian IPA.

Bouteille 50cl de Tomaz, BB 14/07/2014, thanks for hauling this one back from Russia.

Bottle at the beer dudes gathering at Appellation Wines Comely Bank thanks to Onkelgobber. Appearance - cloudy orange with a frothy head. Nose - apples grapes and biscuits in the background. Taste - tangy bitter apples then bread. Palate - light to medium bodied with a tangy texture and a long dry finish. Overall - this fits the style of English pale ale most closely.
