0.355l can. Aroma of citrus, mango and resin. Pours clear amber color with large soapy off-white head, good lacing and sparkling appearance. Taste starts refreshing tropical fruity and moderate sweet malty, following is bready, herbal and medicinal, mouthfeel is smooth and mild spicy, while finish is heavy bitter. Full body, oily texture and lively carbonation in palate. The one without mango is better…

355ml can [as Mango Jai Alai]. Minimally milky, orange golden to amber colour with average to huge, frothy, slowly osteoporosing, minimally lacing, off-white head. Sweet-ish, minimally artificial, fruity aroma, notes of mango, hints of peach, slight jelly bear character. Taste is sweet-ish, caramel malty, minimally artificial, sugary fruity, mildly bitter, slightly piney, minimally fruity hoppy, hints of mango, a touch of peach, hoppy hints of grapefruit and lemon. Oily texture, smooth and soft, minimally cloying palate, fine, creamy, mildly prickly carbonation. Relatively sweet, not too artificial - nice, but I'd always prefer the pure Jai Alai.

Can from Beer Republic. It pours clear golden - yellow with a decent white head. The aroma is sweet, juicy, bright, tangy, heady notes mango, tinned fruit cocktail, peachy and apricot. The taste is bone dry upfront, firm, punchy bitterness, snappy, green, piney vibes, varnished wood, sappy, light tannin, mango is there but not as intense as on the snout, apricot, pithy citrus, waxy peel, floral and nip of bitterness with a drying, bitter finish. Medium body and average carbonation. Nice bitter snap and not artificial at all. Nice work.

Entering old rates. Draft @ CCB Fruit in the Room 2010.

Location: Cask at Rattle 'N Hum, 2/20/10
Aroma: Lots of citrus hops, mango, toasted malts
Appearance: Dark orange cream-sickle look to it
Flavor: Deep fruit juice sweet and hoppy flavor profile
Palate: Medium body, creamy and smooth from the cask
Overall Impression: This is some pretty good stuff has a nice fruit juice feel to it, but with a good hop bitterness there too to balance out the sweetness. I like the way this one worked quite a bit, and it was really good on cask.

From growler pouring copper with gold edges and modest white head. The aroma is full of sweet tropical fruit notes with lesser amounts of sharp citrus hops, spicy hops and a sweet malt backbone. The taste has a pleasing spicy to near pine to citrus hop bite quickly followed by late boil addition flavor hops and a thin layer of sweet tropical fruitiness. I have to say the last batch of Jai Alai was very good. The hops pop with bitter and flavor hop balance and are held up firmly by a sweet maltiness. This is the hoppiness I really enjoy. Excellent improvement here Wayne. I would be interested to see the Mango treatment with more contact time. As it is now the Jai Alai yumminess swallows up the Mango leaving only tasty hints here and there.
