12 fl oz bottle. Pours clear and golden deep brown with a small tan head. Aroma is caramelish and vague phenolic. Light breadish malty. Sweet malty, caramelish and light breadish. Bitter and mild herbal into the finish.

Bottle: Dark caramel color with a small beige head. Nose is lightly sweet, and a little Belgian yeast. Mellow taste, not much going on past the malty sweetness. Very light hints of wheat and spice. Mellow.

Loose 12 oz. bottle, 50¢ at Jewel. Probably the first Coors I’ve ever seen that wasn’t pale fizzy yellow. Instead it comes out almost brown as a dubbel, and under a big tan head. Smell has actual malt to it; will wonders never cease? Taste is likeable. Extra sugar does come into play here, tasting like a hint of brown sugar. Malt forward, a bit of wheat spice, maybe even a suggestion that Coors has a house Belgian yeast for their Blue Moons. Too weak in alcohol for this style, but I might not kick it out of bed for eating crackers.

Pour is a clear brown with a average white head. Aroma is some weak caramel malts. Flavor is is a better malt with some dark bread and toffee. Finish is a little sugary. Ok nothing special and it was a throw in to fill out my mix-a-six.

Dull undercarbonated brown beer, medium foaming head that faded fast. Aroma was fruity, almost authentic with dark raisiny figgy fruitys, small hint of phenols. Flavor was more dry cocoa powder with just a hint of sugary fruit, but it had a weird combination of tart astringency and candy sweetness toward the finish.
