This copper-colored ale is crafted with roasted malts, Belgian sugar, and a touch of wheat for a rich caramel flavor and a smooth toffee finish.

Holiday Party: (free): Pours copper colour with off-white head. Aroma is mostly of caramel malts, with hint of sugar (I didn’t notice them to be roasted). Taste is ok. Simple, a little sweet. No hops or yeast, but at least there is a good amount of flavour. As much ideological opposition as beer geeks/nerds/snobs have to macros, one has to admit that this as just as good as a lot of lower tier micros. Drinkable (I had about 6 of these, as the other available beers were Stella and Harpoon WInter), and as one can see sessionable.

Refrigerated bottle poured into a glass. Pours a clear medium brown with light brown bottom. Small off-white head, good lacing, and heavy body. Taste is complex roasted malt, caramel, and hops in the finish. Just not very good.

Pours a fairly clear ruby - lightly estery nose, with sweet notes of candi sugar, raisin, toffee - fairly full carbonation in the mouth - a little tart and acidic up front, with some wheaty character and toasted graininess - the toasted character lingers as a sweetness develops through the middle, bringing a somewhat chewy toffee character - lingering sweetness in the finish - not terribly complex, but fairly smooth and slightly warming/spicy on the end.

12 ounce bottle from Whole Foods Market Charlottesville, VA. Pours a clear dark amber color with a thin head that fades quickly. Aroma of toffee and grainy notes. The taste is toffee, sugary notes and some faint spice. Not too bad.

Bottle out of winter sampler 12 pack. Pours a dark brown and light tan head wit roasted malt aroma and brown sugar. Medium mouthfeel with a light malt flavor and a bit watery. Easy to drink, a decent belgian.

Courtesy of jcwattsrugger. Pours amber with tan head. The aroma is sweet with caramel, apple and chocolate chip cookie. Pretty nice. The taste is smooth with apples, caramel and muted cherry to midway. It seems to stay that way leanining toward smooth blended dark fruitiness into the finish.

Bouteille partagée avec Jcwattsrugger. Couleur ambre, mousse beige.
