12oz bottle from Wegman’s, King of Prussia, PA. Amber with a loose cream head; a few spicy hops on the aroma; rather thin in the mouth with some caramel malts and nettley hops; the malts become thicker in the mouth as time passes, leaving an unpleasant, sticky, finish. Not good.

Fairly rich caramel nose. Clear amber, thin head. Caramel and fall leaves flavor, not sweet. Better than I remember in previous years.

$2 for the single. enjoyed in a tulip. Very clear. Very light orange look. Very week. Smells like a lager with cloves added. wow. very weak UGH taste. This is not great. light lager taste, hints of candied sugars, very light almost nonexistant malts. some spices. Meh.

Catch up rating from notes, 2012: Bottle from sampler pack. Light copper pour, head dissipates to nothing. Aroma is grainy, light fruity notes, smidgen of hops. Taste is more of the malts, some odd sweetness, citric notes. A bit odd for the style.

bottle - Pours clear amber with a small off-white head. It smells mainly of caramel malt and the taste is more of the same. It’s sweet, light to medium bodied and decent without standing out in any way. Eh.

Bottle. Pours light amber with an off white head. Nose and taste of barley, malt and light nuts. Hints of caramel. Plain but drinkable. Light to medium body.

Deep rich copper and burnt bronze coloured body with a thinnish tan head - nice glow, but the head is disappointing. Aroma of funky and putrid stale malt with some fake beet sugar in the mix, a little yeast and not much else that’s anything pleasant. Medium-bodied; Assertive grain and alcohol flavour with a pungent bitterness from nuts and earth with an offputting beet sugar flavour that isn’t good at all. Aftertaste shows more of the same with some earthiness, a bit of caramel and once again - a deep bitterness. Overall, this is just awful - not a mild beer that hasn’t any flavour, just a beer with a bad taste and even worse finish. I sampled this twelve ounce bottle purchased from Total Wine in Alexandria, Virginia for a waste of US$1.49 on 09-October-2011 sampled at home in Washington on 17-October-2011.

Bottle. Toffee malt aroma. Hazy amber color with moderate head. Sweet toffee and lightly bitter grass flavor. Funky.

Six pack to start football season. Pours dark orange with small head. Taste is of rye, cherries, toffee, malt, and candied sugar. It was last thing I hadn’t tried at grocer but drinkable enough to finish today
