Just released our newest seasonal – “Holy Sheet”. From the centuries-old tradition of Belgian Abbey monks comes our Uber Abbey Ale (9%). Aromatic and very full bodied, the beer will pour a deep burgundy in color and feature a rich, robust depth of malt character. Grab a line – Holy Sheet! – or you might be swept overboard.

Pours a deep ruby brown with a quickly dissipating beige head that leaves a syrupy lacing. Very fruity and candy-filled aroma. Starts out with a tingling feeling going all through your body. Cherry and yeast are all up in the taste. Rather sweet and fruity. Slight, but not unpleasant, alcohol burn. Medium bodied. Overall pretty good and a very good value considering the high alcohol content, but not the greatest dubbel that I have had.

Pours dark reddish brown with tan head. Fruity aroma with candy sugar and toasted malts. Flavor is pretty sweet and fruity. Lots of Belgian candy sugar. Medium body with average carbonation. A little bit of alcohol comes through.

A dark orange brown ale with a thin off white head. A rather interesting aroma of sugar beet, brown sugar and rosewater. In mouth, a nice caramelly and molassey malt, dark figs, warmming alcohol. Nice and classy. Tap at BCTC 2009

Bottle - thanks beachbum25. A muddy brownish-orange color wityh a finger of creamy beige head. Aroma is soft with fruitiness, vinous, and light yeast. What a unique taste! Sort of a Belgian Strong Ale meets Barley Wine... Vinous, dark fruits, sweet toffee and caramel, yeast, cloves, and faded citrus hops. Blended and balanced flavors. Sometimes different is better.

Thanks to beachbum25 for this one - pours a lightly hazy purplish color, with a small, soapy lace - sugary sweet aroma, with some notes of plum, caramel, belgiany esters - flavor is boozy - alcohol is quite apparent - odd mix of caramel, dark fruits, light clove phenols, a bit of tangy citrus peel - a bit of bitterness on the end, followed by lingering alcohol burn - another dud from this brewery.

Overall Impression: Solid tasting beer, hides the alcohol well, and has a solid blend of flavors. I definitely like the name too, as I always enjoy a bad pun.

Bright reddish-brown. Plummy aroma with sour cherries, chocolate. Fruity and sweet, some bubblegum, light spice. Some orange. Some nice nuances but too sweet.

Bottle. Amber with a creamy looking two-inch head. Sweet fruity aroma. Sweet, sticky fruit, alcohol, and chocolate malts (?) in the mouth.

Nice play on words. Friendly, rather sweet aroma. Very strong taste impact of alky and alky. Color of dark iced tea. Pretty difficult to swallow at times for a lager lover. Finish is cough medicine but in an almost good way. Nothing near the refined attitudes you get from real belgie dubbels.
