Drank this one along Cape Coast at the Kankum National Forest (Ghana) while awaiting the end of a downpour. This had to be one of the worse beer I ever got to try. The concept of ginger malt liquor is nice, but the offering is not living to the label that mentions a touch of ginger, is a pure euphemism. pours a light brown with thin off-white head. aroma is pure ginger and spices and not much else manages to seep through, ginger spices are nice but too one dimensional. flavors, lingering ginger spices and powder on palate. There is so much ginger that it overtakes everything else this beer had to offer, turns into a nasty spicy mess that stuck around even after I had finished my food. The high abv of this beer is not noticeable, instead everything is overpowered by ginger. Finish keeps a lingering powder like palate of ginger spice.

37.5 cL bottle, courtesy of fiulijn. Pours hazy dark brown and with small tan head. Aroma is soapy ginger spiced, roasted malt too. Burning ginger, dark malty, citrusy and detergent. Dry ginger spiced finish.

Cloudy mahogany with a tiny beige head. Chemical aroma with roasted malt medicine notes. Flavour had loads of burning ginger, roasted malt, old cola, pepper and chilli like notes. Seriously spicy and hot. Not my thing though.

Cloudy brown color; sparse bubbles. Aroma of lemon-ginger, soap-like, clearly not inviting. Sweet caramel flavor with a strong ginger kick; and again, no real beer here, just an alcoholic sweet gimmick. Difficult to drink at all.

Bottled. A dark nut-brown beer with a thin off-white head. The aroma has strong notes of ginger as well as some notes of roasted malt. The flavor is extremely spicy - lots of ginger, but also black peber on an alcoholic, malty, and lightly roasted finish. Interesting - but a bit too much for me. Thanks a lot fiulijn for sharing this...

Bottle 37,5 cl. Courtesy of fiulijn. Pours a cear orangey brown with a beige head. Spicy ginger nose. Medium body, sweet roasted malts but this is completely dominated by sharp and burning ginger - whoa! Very dusty and spicy finish. Quite unique really. 030410
