100% BRETT FERMENTED.
Technically, this is neither an ale nor a lager. The base recipe is for a Golden Ale, but we do the primary fermentation with 100% brettanomyces. The brett gives it some sour notes but not as much as if it had been aged with lacto and pedio. It’s rather refreshing on a warm day!

On tap at Russian River Brewing in Santa Rosa, CA-USA. Cloudy yellow color, white foamy head. Nose: brett, lemon, lime cake. Fantastic complexity. Mouth: zest, watery soul, citric finish with a mild Brett redundancy. Fantastic! ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from De Laurenti, Seattle, 12.99$
Blond-golden color, clean, with small head. Very nice aroma, very close to a Lambic, less strong; funky yeast, moldy cellar walls. Dry and smooth mouthfeel; again a lot of yeast character, bitter grapefruit, and some astringency in the final; more fruity than most Gueuze, a bit like a young unblended Lambic.
Excellent beer. Still, in Belgium they can brew beer with more depth at a fraction of the price, hence I give one point less.

Pours light pale yellow, cloudy, thin film of foam. Aroma is yeasty, feels saisony but also soft and fruity-creamy. Taste is sour with barnyard and berries. Bit of bitterness and that is left also later and keeps lingering. Dry and tingling the roof of my mouth. Combined with fruitiness and subtle sour, this one is really multy-layered and actually keeps growing on me. Solid.

Bottle shared at a tasting. Thanks Jon! Pours a straw yellow with some haziness and a one-finger white head. Brett forward barnyard nose with pears and light green grapes. Citrus and lemon zest notes along with some light green pineapple notes and bread. Short-lived finish but still solid.

Big Bretty nose with pears and barnyard and a bit too creaminess. Excellent low medium carbonation. Modestly sour with barnyard and funkiness which is fairly subtle. The finish is a bit short, but not bad.
