Midnight Oil is an Oatmeal Coffee Stout. "Quiet and sensual like a moonlit night, this complex blend of toasted oats, roasted barley, chocolate wheat malt, and dark roast organic coffee, imparts an intense aroma and complex flavor profile. Midnight Oil will wake up your senses.

We brew a traditional English oatmeal stout with a rich malt profile, then add locally roasted organic fair trade coffee while this ale is cold conditioned. Cold extraction imparts an intense coffee aroma and flavor without the bitter oils using heat processing techniques

12 oz. can. Pours an opaque dark brown color with a tight tan head and good retention. Good lacing. Aroma of roasted coffee and roasted malts. Similar flavor. Dark roasted coffee flavor dominates with some roasted malt to help balance a little. I like the stout, but the coffee flavor is too strong for me. Smooth and clean. Medium body. Drop the coffee and this would be really good.

Taster at the Craft Bar in Destin. Pours black, with a small, dense, tan head. The aroma is dark roast coffee, toasted pecans, leather, and chalk. Sweet and malty, with a mellow, earthy bitterness. Medium to heavy body, with a sharp, grainy mouthfeel. This is a quality and mellow stout.

Coffee, and roasted oats up front like you spilled your porridge in the campfire. Black pour - a little oily but not terribly so. Bitter finish with some caramel. A touch of leather. Can.

This beer is black, I mean wow it's really dark/opaque. Among the darkest I've seen. Short lived head though. Nose features coffee first, mocha chocolate, not much in the way of roasted malt,it's a lighter toffee note. Flavor features a tad more roast but I appreciate the restrained approach with that, the smooth almost creamy malt backbone - probably from the oatmeal - supports a mild coffee flavor. Like many coffee stouts, the beer feels a tad thinned out, lacking the fuller body you might want, but it seems to work here, and at 5%, this is a nice dry and smooth oatmeal stout. The longer I sip on it, the more the coffee flavors come to the fore, and it drinks much like an iced coffee, and that's in a good way. Good job Swamp Head.

Can. Black pour with a tan head. Aroma of coffee being roasted, some chocolate. The flavor is bitter, burnt coffee and chocolate. Not my kind of stout, but I know people who like ’em kinda burnt and roasty - this is one for you.

On tap at World of Beer Pensacola. Pours a cloudy brown with beige head that lasts. The aroma is strong roast, dark chocolate, nuts. Thin mouth, similar flavors to nose with light dry finish, good.

Draft on a guest tap at Six Ten Brewing, Tampa. Pitch black color with head that died slowly to nothing. Aroma is real nice. Coffee is bold upfront with a light amount of oats and chocolate.

Flavor is just has nice as the aroma, big coffee profile right at the forefront with the oats giving a nice fuller body that seems bigger then 5% ABV. Flavor is strong at that gravity. Nicely crafted with plenty of lingering coffee after the sip. Sessionable and I could indeed drink a lot of this brew.
