On tap at the Dunedin Brewery. Pours deep copper with gold just at the edges of the glass and white head with modest sheet lacing. The first swig is, hey, this almost tastes barrel aged. It seems to start out with sweet malts bleeding into sweet booze enhanced molasses, buttery diacetyl and caramel. By midway I get smooth hop notes coming to the surface creating a thin layer of sweet citrus. The aroma is dry oak mixing with a rye twang and moving toward molasses and a sense of a vague hop tingle near the end of the draw. After it warmed a bit the taste started to mirror the nose with a pulse of oak and thick molasses sweetness and a modest rye twang. It finishes with lingering dry oak chips. This brew has lots of flavor going on.

One of my top rated Dunedin beer. Pours hazy orange with finger thick beige head. Contrary to the earlier Oak aged IPA this version had a lot more carbonation. Aroma, sweet floral hops with hints of rye and a good boozy whiskey scent. Some malt / caramel elements to be noted and light citrus. Taste, full bodied, medium carbonation, some thick rye mouthfeel with warming whiskey. Warming palate with the hops adding a very touch of bitterness though not being too overpowering. Wood / bourbon blends very well and the extra rye IPA complements this amazing beer. Noted some lingering malt profile with hints of caramel and rye giving the beer a smooth palate.
