Bottle from Toby. Showing its age. Medium, clear brown. Sweet, maple notes. More brown sugar, light malts. Close to not being a Doppelbock anymore.

Bomber. Ten year old cellared bottle bought from the brewery a couple months ago. Aroma is caramel, sherry, dark fruit, apple, lightly grassy. Pours mostly clear amber with some sediment floating around underneath a collapsing beige head. Taste is sweet and vinous like sherry, with caramel and dark fruit flavors. Slight oxidation, but nothing like one would expect for a ten year old bottle. Carbonation is a little soft. This is tasting mighty fine right now.

Bottle pours brown with a medium tan head. Very complex nose, wheat, red vinous notes, caramel and toast. Flavor is caramel malt and a nice rich yeast ester finish with mild tartness. Awesome!

Bottle shared by Sean, thanks! Poured a hazy brown with a gold hue and a minimal gray head that dissipated completely. Aroma was full of sweet dark grains with a bit of bread and toffee. Flavor was a bit darker with some chocolate and a hint of toffee in the finish.

Good doppelbock, lots of spice, a tad sweet. It pours a very nice dark caramel color with a dissipating beige head. The nose is sweet and malty with a lot of fruit notes and some spice. There’s a lot of malt in the beer, as there should be. The feel could be a bit lusher, but it’s still quite good. The flavors are caramel, mineral, cardamom, lemon, pepper, some butteriness and a hint of cinnamon. It’s just a bit out of balance with sweetness, but it’s not by a lot.

Bottled. An unclear dark amber beer with a lazing beige head. The aroma has notes of phenol, malt, and caramel. The flavor is sweet with notes of malt, phenol, caramel, and a bit of alcohol, leading to a dry phenolic finish. Hmm - I’ve had a lot of better beers from Full Sail. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Bottle 65 cl. Courtesy of BelgianBeerGal. Pours a hazy amber with an off-white head. A little smoke in the nose combined with pumpernickel. Medium body, skewed sweet malty notes - something is not completely clean here, a fermentation error? Sweet burned caramel and hardly any bitterness. Nor the cleanest of Bocks. 290110
