On tap at the Florida Brewers Guild BeerFest 2009. Pours very dark and nearly black with a nice mocha head that maintains a ring of brown foam against the inside radius of the glass. The aroma has some roasty malts, chocolate malts and then what seems like Belgian candi sugar and black licorice. In between those aromatic notes I also get persistent dark fruity esters. The taste begins sweet and then moving modestly roasty with chocolate malts and a touch of black licorice. By midway a solid layer of dark fruity esters surface at near equal strength as the roasted and chocolate malts. The fruity esters are full of raisins, plums and ripe cherries that take the taste to the finish to meet up with a pleasing level of dark chocolate creating a moderately sweet finish.

Tap FBGF. Pours dark brown with off-white head. Aroma of roasted malts. Taste, roasted malts, caramel strong emphasis on licorice, giving the beer a very Belgina cnadi like palate followed by a light roasted malt finish. Some dark fruits are laso to be noticed. Overall an excellent beer, not sure if it is that close to the Imp Porter style.

Dark brown with a nice head. Light aroma has coffee and chocolate. Light cocoa on the palate. Light malt accent with hints of nuts. More of a regular porter, and not a very enticing one at that.
