Michelob Porter is brewed using the finest classic aroma hop varieties grown in the Pacific Northwest United States and two-row, caramel and chocolate barley malts, giving it an aroma of coffee and a hint of chocolate. It is dark brown in color and, when held to light, ruby-red highlights can be seen. The porter complements a variety of cheeses, shellfish dishes as well as chocolate desserts, and is best enjoyed when served in a traditional pub style glass.

Bottled (thanks heemer77!). Deep reddish/black colour with mediumsized brown bubbly head. Aroma is chocolate, malts and some slight hops. Flavour is malts, chocolate and coffee along with some slight hoppy bitterness. Rather tasteful and drinkable beer, which leaves a big dark chocolate aftertaste.

12 oz. bottle, "Born on 04OCT06," tasted 06JUL07. Dark pour, a creamy head with a bot of tan to it. Dark malt smell with a hint of cocoa. Surprising coffee malt taste, but somewhat astringent. Likewise a little grainy in texture, close to stout character. Not bad, except for the usual macro beer carbonation.

This beer is a dark reddish-brown color with a thick and foamy beige head that diminishes leisurely. Thin rings of lacing on the glass. Roasty aroma of coffee with a touch of malt. Medium-bodied and smooth with coffee and malt flavors. Light coffee and hops bitterness shows up periodically. The finish is creamy with a light coffee aftertaste. Better than expected, although it doesn’t really push the envelope in any way. Average all around.

Bottle. Light chocolate malt aroma. Dark brown color with small head. Lighlty ashy/smokey chocolate malt flavor. Nice flavor - on the light side. Not too bad. Much better than the average A-B offering.

Slight aroma of yeast. Very dark beer, couldn’t see the bubbles till they got close to the top. While drinking, there was nothing offensive. Roasted flavor. A detectable finish of some bitter hops. My rating is compared to Bell’s porter. I think somebody at the big company is finally catching on. Better than Yard’s, St. Bridgets and Boston Beer’s holiday porter.

Pour is a almost black with a small tan head. Aroma is pretty nice mix of chocolate and roasted nuts. Flavor is a bit weaker then the aroma but still pretty nice with some chocolate and coffee showing up. Finish is sweet but bitter. It would be easy to dump on this brew b/c of who made it but i would say this is a average to slightly above average porter.
