Keg at the brewery four days ago. Black, thin creamy tan head, good retention. Aroma of chocolate, roast. Slightly thin, very drinkable. Solid.

Bottle @ home. Deep brown/black appearance with a dark brown head. Deeply roasty, a bit milky, dark chocolate, light vanilla, a bit burnt black coffee aroma. Dry, very roasty dark chocolate malty, coffee flavor with a touch of fruity tartness. Pretty easy drinking.

Location: 22 oz bottle from Buy Rite, 5/17/12, Bottled Jan '12 (Week 4)

Aroma: The nose is mostly roasted malts with a little bot of licorice
Appearance: It pours a dark brown-black color with a small brown head
Flavor: It tastes roasted up-front, with a later bitterness
Palate: The body is light-medium, with average carbonation, and a lightly dry finish
Overall Impression: This is a decent beer, but that is about all. It is mostly roasty, a little one-dimensional, and a little dull.

Bottle. Pours with a minimal brown head that fades quickly over the deep brown, near black body. Aroma of baked bread, chocolate, coffee grounds and chemicals. Taste is lactic as crap! Holy hell this is completely sour and not even in a remotely good way. Seems like everything I have had from this sampler eightpack is slightly infected in one way or another. Acidic!

12 oz bottle courtesy of alagnak. Mar WK1 notched on the label. Pour is deep black with some burgundy highlights. The noisy one inch khaki head falls quickly with minimal lacing. Aroma of creamy sweet milk and mild roast coffee. Smells like a sweetened cafe au lait a bit. There is a hint of pine present as well. The taste is pretty straight forward roasted malt, nice almost burnt edge to it. The sweetness is present as well, though more in the mid taste background. A mild prickly bitterness wakes the flavor up. The finish picks the roastiness up again and carries it through to a long roast flinty dry after taste. This dryness really makes it drinkable, making me a want another sip soon. Palate is medium, higher in carbonation then many in the style, though not unpleasantly so. Nice stout, thanks for sending it my way Chris.

Pours black, brownish/beige head. Aroma is roasted, cofee, light notes of dark fruits. Taste was a little weak. Part of the beer remidned me of the Fuel Cafe that also had a weak finish. Cofee roastiness floral taste, fruity and lightly hoppy, chocolat malts. Decent dry stout.

12oz bottle. Deep brown-black color. Roasty, pleasant aroma. Sweet and pungent flavor for a stout, with an odd sour taste overpowering the chocolate richness. I’m not exactly a style Nazi, but this one really doesn’t taste right to me for a Stout.

Bottle. Smokey dark chocolate and nutmeg aroma. Opaque black-brown color with minimal head. Creamy chocolate flavor with nutmeg and light cinnamon flavors as well. A spicier stout.

This beer came to me in my beer club. Sampled from a 12 oz brown bottle this beer poured a black color with a medium sized dark brown head. The aroma was dry roasty and toasty malts. The flavor was dryish roasty malts with an element reminiscent of malted milk balls. The beer turned slightly sweet towards the finish. The body was fairly thick and smooth. Nice.
