From a 330ml bottle on 6/3/2019. Pours not far off black with pretty much no head. Has quite a strong nose with chocolate notes and heaps of whisky. Taste wise, there's a big chocolate sweetness up front, along with hints of coffee, dark fruit and spice. This is met by a sharp, roasty bitterness and a big whisky booziness. A bit thin texture wise, particularly given it's size, and slightly under-carbed. Not a complete disaster, but a bit unbalanced, overly boozy and has enough flaws to make the drinking experience disappointing.

'Bottle. Black, no head save a small island of brown bubbles. Aroma of dark chocolate, whisky, coffee, caramel. just shy of syrupy. Very low carbonation. Too low but not a lot too low for me. Bitterness comes from chocolate, roast, wood and coffee, and it''s as though the sweetness is taming it rather than the other way around. The whisky flavours are prominent but fit well with the stout. Good, interesting, unusual.' --- Beer merged from original tick of Whisky B.A imperial stout on 18 Dec 2018 at 12:36 - Score: Appearance - 4 | Aroma - 8 | Flavor - 8 | Texture - 8 | Overall - 8.
