Bottle 5.8% ABV. Unclear very dark brown with a tan head. Some singed toffee and grain but really mostly about chocolate - assertive floral and orange tinged. Smooth texture with some oatmeal stout- like body. Moderate sweetness starts as chocolate but that seems to then have floral and slightly astringent tones as it gets towards the dry and somewhat bitter finish. That seemed to hollow it out a bit for me, but does emphasize the exotic cocoa. Maybe that slightly nutty and spicy note is from the quinoa? Interesting beer that drew me in the more I had.

On tap at the Gertrude Hotel, pours a reddish dark brown with a small beige head. Aroma brings out light cocoa and toasted bready malt. Flavour is smooth and fairly restrained, with bready notes, dry cocoa and a fairly prominent astringency on the finish. Nicely constructed despite the harsh edges. Nice one.

Murky yeast and dark brown. Thin caramel-coloured head. Some interesting toasty-roasty aromas. Soft body, sweet toasty character, gets more caramelly towards the finish. Good brew - the oats are apparent on the body, but the quinoa is tough to place.
