Using three, uniquely toasted malts, alongside oats, results in a smooth and creamy mouthfeel highlighted with hints of mocha.

375ml can from Beer52. Eye - black, fairly thick pour with creamy tanned head which lasts; very good. Nose - roasted malts, ash, coffee, milk chocolate: inviting Taste - semi-sweet, ash, coffee beans, chocolate, a hint of jammy fruits. There is just enough sweetness to balance the bitter notes. Palate - medium body and smooth, only a small dryness which is just as well with the ash and bitter flavours. Overall - Its a very good stout.

Can from Beer 52. Main strand in the aroma is vanilla but with some oats. Pours pretty much jet black with a strong beige head. Roasted malts in the mouth, together with liquorice, blackberry jam and hints of chocolate. Texture is fairly creamy. More bitterness and hitns of peppermint in the finish. A nice a complex beer for its strength – I rather like it !

Rocky light brown head left a creamy cover on a near black, finely carbonated body. Rye & malt aroma. Medium bodied, airy on the tongue with fuller creamy back. Roasted, malt, coffee, cereal & jam tastes with a lightly hopped up finish. Tasty

330ml can from Paus Craft Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear dark brown colour with a mostly lasting frothy off white head and some broken lace. The aroma is roasty malt, light liqourice, chocolate and vanilla. The flavour is moderate sweet, with a smooth, dry, chocolate, light ashtray palate. Medium bodied with soft carbonation.

Can. Black. Burnt toast nose. Nutty, dry but still with creamy mouthfeel. I like.

Can. Black with an inch of tan head. Aroma of mocha, dark sugars, roast on the toasty end. But not as sweet as suggested and the oats do just enough to keep it from feeling a tad light on. Mild roast and mocha, a bit of an chocolate oaty slice vibe. Slightly astringent on the tip of the tongue at the moderately bitter end. Solid.
