Barrel-Aged Rye Wine
Singular in heft and layered with symphonic grace. Lofty notes of maple, brown sugar, and candied pecan suggest sweetness before a dry, rye-forward terminus.

Mmmm concentrated rye. Feels less refined than 2019 so maybe age does a lot to these cans or batch differences but still sweet and spicy boozy caramel smoothness. *Edit* at room temp the "fresh" edge falls off and ugh, perfect.

Can thanks to Virby44. Big, bourbon aroma. Toffee. Noticeable rye. Dank and wet oak. Taste is sweet with sticky, brown sugar on top of a mild, rye bitterness. Unexpected papaya note at the finish and, of course, bourbon. Full bodied, sticky, warming. Scary ABV. A nice sipper.

5 oz glass at Orange & Brew. Light, but hazy brown color, just a slight ring of foam at where. Smell has nice whiskey/Bourbon notes, a side of faded hops. Thick mother comes up first, then a slightly sweet and heavily malty note, like any good barleywine. Frankly, it gets yummier as I go down even this little glass.

355ml can. Sweet, sticky and stuffy with some caramel, toffee, rye, wood, whisky and oak. Heavy and stingy boozy, but quite good.

What better way to celebrate the exit of America’s sorriest wanker? Only 15.8% though. Smooth but spicy. Delicious. Big beer in a small can. Pic: “Sayonara! Fuck off and die, Donnie Darko!”

Crowler from Holiday Market. Pours a clear copper chestnut color with a finger of off-white foam that dissipates. Beautiful spicy, peppery rye bourbon focused nose with oak, whiskey and light vanilla notes. Sweet malt, pink peppercorn, warming whiskey on the palate with more oak and light plum notes as it warms. Very peppery and spicy on the finish and quite boozy. Really enjoyable though....all rye everything.
