(Bottle, Stockholm Beer Festival, 6 Oct 2012) Dark brown colour, almost black, with brief beige head. Roasted, malty nose with dark chocolate, coffee, liquorice, oak wood, vanilla and a touch of peat smoke and juniper berries. Malty, roasted taste with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, hints of whisky and a touch of juniper berries. Generous cacao bitterness in the finish. Almost full body, with a certain sweetness. Very nice.

Sample @ Stockholm Beer & Whisky 2012. Pours black with a small mocha head that doesn’t leave much trace while dissipating. Smell is sweet, salty and malty with dark bread, wood, peat, vanilla fudge, moist soil, peat, earthy compost and alcohol. Taste is sweet, bitter and herbal with roasted malts, wood, acetone, vanilla fudge, burnt cookies, peat, alcohol, rotten fruits, moist green herbs, whisky, earthy compost and moist soil. Mouthfeel is slightly round, slightly astringent and medium bodied. Finish is bitter and herbal with roasted malts, whisky, earth compost, lemon balm and hints of acetone. I’m sorry but I found this pretty revolting...

Bottled at SBWF. Near black, creamy head. Aroma of chocolate and whisky. Mid sweet with medium-full body and well rounded mouthfeel. Peaty and fruity with marked bitterness. Elegant, even if whisky heavy.
