Big Sky Brewing's Ivan the terrible Imperial Stout is brewed according to the traditional style using English hops and the finest American malt. It's aroma and flavor balance well between esters of dried fruit and roasted cocoa with a slight bourbon presence.

Fresh, definitely bourbon forward and "hot" with the alcohol but it's malty as all hell and has a noticeable dark fruit and cocoa presence. --- Beer merged from original tick of Barrel Aged Ivan the Terrible (2012) on 06 Oct 2016 at 18:32 - Score: 8. Original review text: Thinner body than the BCBS. Some oxidation. Bourbon is dulled, Malt seems to be healthy. Not fair to compare it, really.
