Bottle at home. Aroma is malt, caramel, chocolate, cocoa powder, oak, raisins, touch of mocha, hint of whiskey in the finish. Flavour is medium sweet with a little bitterness in the finish. Body is medium. Only slightly boozy considering the hefty abv. The whiskey is subtle in this beer, it’s the chocolate that makes this Quad shine.

Bottle. Dark brown, lush creamy foam. Aroma: esters, green apple, whisky, caramel, prunes, a little chocolate, interesting. Taste: oak, whisky, green apple, burnt barley, caramel, quite good.

Towards the end of session, I dislike tasting a beer that I have expanded anticipation for. I liked the standard Inglorious Quad considerable. With barrel aging I expect more. We shall see. And now. Curiously the Straffe Hendrik snifter was the glass of choice tonight and now it gets to receive IQ Whisky Infused. Good start, the pour is a dark pecan in color and has a surprisingly large and persistent medium tan head. I lift for a smell, yes, it is good. Candi sugar, malt, dark plums, currants and brown sugar. The taste is equivalent with the addition of a bourbon booziness. A stout drink in multiple ways, it has been a fine evening.

1st March 2020
Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy tan head. Palate is surprisingly light, mildly dry and has decent fine carbonation. Tangy semi ripe fruits, cola. Touch of fruity whiskey. A little malt sweetness emerges on the thinnish tangy fruity finish. Flavoursome but just a tad too tangy. Batch 2 bottle aliased to batch 1.

Bottle at a tasting. Overall character is rather lacking in my opinion. Both malts and yeasty spice present, but both in kind of castrated no-ball version. I do not get the barrels at all to be honest. Full body, rather low carbonation. Not bad, but could offer so much more with its description.

Bottle at tasting, thanks Gurthnar. Malty aroma and taste, light roastyness and coffee notes, medium bitter. Full body, malty coffee roasty bitter finish with alcohol notes. Ok.
